Use red and black colours for balloons, streamers and the tablecloth.

Make a poster for the door that says
"AHOY SHIPMATES - WELCOME ABOARD!"

Create pirate flags in various colours to place around the party area.

Cover your table with a black table cloth and scatter gold chocolate coins and plastic jewels.

Make jellyfish out of streamers and hang from the ceiling together with cut-out fish and an inflatable shark.

When the kids arrive, give them each a pirate patch, draw a beard with eye liner and tie a bandana around their heads or give them a pirate hat.

Tropical Fizz Sea Monster - using Hartley’s Tangerine Jelly

Follow step 1 of pack instructions. Stir in 375ml lemonade or tropical flavour fizzy drink, pour into 4 individual pudding moulds and chill to set. Turn each jelly out onto a serving plate and decorate with chocolate buttons as eyes, mouth and suckers and candy bananas for tentacles. Serves 4

Pirate Jelly Custard Cups - using any Hartley’s jelly flavour

makes 8

290g custard 1 Hartley’s Jelly Tablet 250ml water

Decorate 8 cups or glasses with gold ribbon or stickers

Half fill 8 cups or glasses with the custard.
Allow to cool in the fridge while making the jelly.
Combine the Hartley’s Jelly Tablet and water according to pack instructions, cool, and then pour over the custard.
Set in the fridge until firm, and then serve.

Jelly treasure trove

• Place one large jelly upside down on a plate
• Stack five chocolate coins on top
• Each player has a spoon and takes turns to scoop away a spoon-sized amount of jelly without disturbing the chocolate coins
• The loser is the one who causes the coins to slide or topple off and touch the plate.

bluebeard’s jelly island

• Sit everyone in a circle and place a tray in the middle with a ‘skull & crossbones’ hat, eye patch, waistcoat, plastic knife and fork, dice and a big bowl of jelly
• Players takes turns to roll the dice
• If someone rolls a SIX, they must put on the hat, eye patch and waistcoat and then eat as much jelly as they can with in 1 minute using the knife and fork.
